McEachin on Jewish American Heritage Month

WASHINGTON – Congressman A. Donald McEachin (VA-04) released the following statement in observance of Jewish American Heritage Month:

“This May, we celebrate the rich history of the American Jewish community and honor the great contributions they have made to our nation. Ranging from fighting for civil rights, to women’s rights, to workers’ rights, Jewish Americans’ belief in Tikkun Olam – repairing the world – has strengthened our society.”

“This year we have witnessed a troubling rise in anti-Semitic threats and hate crimes. As we reflect on the ways in which Jewish Americans have helped perfect our union during Jewish American Heritage Month, let us recommit ourselves to a more inclusive society; free from fear and bigotry.”
