RICHMOND – Saturday, Congressman A. Donald McEachin (VA-04) was honored as an OUTstanding Virginian by Equality Virginia during the 14th Annual Commonwealth Dinner.

“All people deserve equal opportunity, justice and fairness and that is why I have always championed LGBT rights. I was humbled to be recognized for my work to advance LGBT causes on the same stage with so many other OUTstanding Virginians who have done so much for such a worthy cause,” said Congressman Donald McEachin. “When I served in the Virginia General Assembly, I introduced critical civil rights legislation and will continue to do so at the federal level in Congress.”

OUTstanding Virginians are lesbian, gay, bisexual, transgender, and allied individuals or organizations that are leaders in moving equality forward across the Commonwealth. Each year Equality Virginia recognizes leaders who have represented the community with distinction.
