McEachin Spoke at Green 2.0 ‘Data Transparency in the Environmental Movement’ Briefing
WASHINGTON – Today, Congressman McEachin spoke at the Green 2.0 Briefing, as a co-chair of the United for Climate and Environmental Justice task force:
“I was very pleased to have the opportunity, with my co-chairs of United for Climate and Environmental Justice task force, to give remarks at the Green 2.0 briefing. Addressing climate change, making sure we leave the earth healthier and cleaner for our children and grandchildren is my key priority. Unfortunately, many negative climate effects disproportionately impact minority, low-income and rural communities. To help remedy this reality, the environmental organizations and advocacy groups need to reflect the diverse communities they are working to assist.
“I am happy to have had the opportunity to speak to Green 2.0 to raise this issue and particularly to look around the room and see such a diverse, youthful and enthusiastic audience. I am confident that we can address the myriad of concerns we have before us.”
