McEachin Statement on Decision to Dissolve the Election Integrity Commission
Richmond, Va. – Congressman A. Donald McEachin (VA-04) issued this statement following the decision to dissolve the Election Integrity Commission:
“I am pleased that the president has dissolved his ill-conceived voter fraud commission that never had any legitimate purpose or reason for being. Finally, we will see the end of this voter intimidation effort disguised as a solution to voter fraud. Instead of wasting time and money to search for non-existent fraud, we should focus on making voting easier and more accessible. I urge President Trump to encourage voter participation at every level across the country by supporting initiatives such as same-day voter registration; expanding early voting; creating a national voter protection hotline, and mandating a verifiable paper trail. Our democracy is strongest when Americans participate and vote.”
