McEachin Statement on Trump's Joint Press Conference with Putin

Richmond, Va. – Congressman A. Donald McEachin (VA-04) issued this statement following President Trump’s joint press conference with Vladimir Putin in Helsinki:

“I am enraged that days after Special Counsel Robert Mueller indicted 12 Russians for hacking our country in 2016, Donald Trump stood next to Vladimir Putin on a global stage and ignored the U.S. intelligence conclusion that Russia meddled in our elections. Today’s actions were a form of appeasement, and this president's weakness in the face of dire threats – like that of Neville Chamberlain – threatens the future of our democracy. President Trump’s actions have put our country at risk.

“This ‘summit’ was a disaster.”
