DINWIDDIE, VAToday, Congressman A. Donald McEachin (VA-04) helped welcome U.S. Army Sergeant Alvah Moore and his wife, Kimberley Taylor, to their new mortgage-free home.

“It was heartwarming to join the welcome team presenting Sergeant Moore and his wife with their new home. As the son of an army vet, I know personally the sacrifices that military families experience. This house is just one way for all of us to say thank you to Sergeant Moore for his service,” said Congressman Donald McEachin.

JPMorgan Chase partnered with Operation Homefront to provide this family with a mortgage-free home. Operation Homefront is a national nonprofit organization dedicated to building strong, stable, and secure military families.

“Today’s home presentation is an excellent example of public-private partnerships that benefit the community. We need to make sure that government is effectively supporting partnerships such as this one; I am committed to doing my part,” said Congressman McEachin.

Sergeant Moore began serving in the U.S. Marines in 2000. Moore was deployed to Iraq twice and once to Japan. Following his honorable discharge from the Marines in 2013, he enlisted in the U.S. Army Reserves where he continues to serve our country today.
